I found Stáche from an article while Googling the best hair salons in Melbourne. What struck me the most at first is that they accept hair donations which I had always wanted to do. This place is very easy to commute to from the city - you have 2 tram options, 1 and 6. Coming in, it was such a lovely surprise to see dogs are most welcome as long as they don't bark and they can chill while waiting for you to get your hair done. While you wait, they give you a beverage of your choice. The artists are friendly and professional, they communicate well with you to make sure you're getting what you want. I am definitely going back for a colour next time. I hear they tend to not waste products so I'm keen to learn more about that on my next visit.
I cannot thank Krystal at Stache enough for taking such good care of me and my hair. After many difficult and traumatic hair experiences, this salon visit with her was just what my soul needed. Krystal was so kind & warm, and really listened & engaged with me thoroughly throughout the consult - the end result was exactly what I was looking for. She was so wonderfully gentle with every touch of my hair & so considerate of my fine hair needs (which is easily prone to breakage from heat and roughness) throughout each step; a skill that is completely underrated. I had such an unreal experience that I felt I just had to leave a review! The most amazing salon and by far the best I've been to in Melbourne. Alaina was so lovely & helpful and I loved how she cut and styled my hair. 10's all round!!
The location and facilities in this salon are world class. The service is also very prompt and I wasn’t left waiting at all. My stylist was very competent and and friendly. The layering she did on my hair was stellar and the blow dry was very gorgeous. The only problem was that the bangs she cut were much denser than I asked her for and what was in either of my reference photos. Moreover I think she may have cut them on the wrong part because when I part my hair on the side I usually do there are some strange short bits. Just a warning for anyone wanting whispy or light bangs maybe look elsewhere. After all for a premium price you deserve to get what you asked for!
This was my first time coming to the salon and I will definitely be a frequent flyer from here on. Krystal did such an amazing job with my hair and it came out even better than I hoped. Thank you so much Krystal for all the time and care you took. The salon has such a nice vibe to it as well! Such a beautiful space.

In all my years attending salons I’ve never come across a stylist that was so considerate, listened and consulted me throughout my cut, right to the very end.
I was the last cab off yesterday. Instead of rushing me out the door, Krystal asked me if there is anything I wanted to change?! Whaaat?! I’ve never heard that before.
Isn’t the norm protocol a quick mirror view with complimentary remarks.

The best salon experience ever! This was such a high quality experience for such an affordable price. I loved how private the seating area was and how there was such a perfect balance between chatting and letting me chill alone…I feel like that’s so rare at the hairdressers
This salon is amazing! Not only did Mark colour my hair and provide the best service and skill, they have dogs there 😍!! Mark is one talented senior. His experience, skill and care is what got me to have my hair goal met. I now have beautiful copper hair! The whole experience with Mark and Stache Hair was beautiful. I highly recommend this salon and Mark. They take care of their clients needs and you will leave the salon feeling amazing and your hair integrity intact. I Highly recommend Mark.
